MyWorkpapers — Product Update
Released Friday 8th May 2026 | 1 new feature · 2 improvements
This release introduces a new way to export your trial balance and journals to BrightAccountsProduction, along with improvements to the SMSF Portal. Everything below is live from 8th May 2026. If you have any questions, our support team is happy to help.
New Features
Export to BrightAccountsProduction with Automatic Account Mapping
You can now export your trial balance directly to BrightAccountsProduction, even when your file uses a third-party chart of accounts such as Xero or QuickBooks. When you select "Export to BrightAccountsProduction," MyWorkpapers detects the source system and presents a mapping screen where you can review and adjust how each account code maps to the BrightAccountsProduction chart of accounts. Known mappings are pre-filled automatically, and any unmapped accounts are clearly highlighted so you can resolve them before proceeding. Your mappings are saved for future exports, so you only need to set them up once per file. You can also choose to include journal entries in the export — they use the same mappings you have already confirmed, so no additional setup is needed.
Improvements & Fixes
SMSF Portal notifications now generate reliably for new files
MyWorkpapers (AU)
When documents are uploaded to a new SMSF file via the portal, the default notification query is now created as expected, ensuring the external user can use the Notify button to alert the auditor straight away. Files with existing review points no longer interfere with the automatic query creation.
SMSF Portal users can no longer delete another user's responses
MyWorkpapers (AU)
External users on the SMSF Portal can now only delete their own comments. Responses posted by the auditor are protected and cannot be removed by portal users, ensuring your audit trail remains intact.
