In this guide, we will take you through how to use the Xero Automated Workpapers.
Please Note: Automated Workpapers is compatible with Exempt templates only, and a Xero Trial Balance is required to be uploaded to MyWorkpapers.
Automated Workpapers are only included as a standard part of the Year-End UK Automation Template. For all other Exempt templates, for example, Mercia and HAT, these workpapers will need to be copied into your file. This guide will cover how to copy the workpapers below:
How to use Automated Workpapers:
- Upload your Xero trial balance via the Xero Integration:
- In the Working Paper Index, you will have access to the Automation workpapers; (You can identify these by the "- Xero Automated" descriptions:
- Enter the Workpaper:
- Click "Apply Data Fields"
- The Workpaper will then start populating information based on your Trial balance / Xero
Copying in Automated Workpapers to your file: (For all Exempt Templates except Year End UK Automation)
- Go to the working paper index:
- Select the Working Paper Index and choose "Copy Workpapers from Template Resources"
- Select the Resources from the list on the left:
- You will then see a MyWorkpapers Automation Folder. Click to expand this:
- Tick the Workpapers that you would like to import into your file then hit import:
- Select the folder the workpaper should sit from the dropdown list and then hit import:
You have successfully imported the Automated Workpaper into your file. You can return to the Working Paper Index.
