With the MyWorkpapers Dual Codes feature, you can import figures from your clients bookkeeping system into MyWorkpaper. These codes can then be converted into your alternative accounts production software. For instance, if you use Sage for bookkeeping but IRIS for accounts production, you can import Sage codes into MyWorkpapers and seamlessly convert them to IRIS codes for export. 

In this article, we will be covering how to create dual code files. 

1. To create a dual codes file, select the advanced options during the creation of your file.

2.  You will now select the Accounts Product System you will be using for this file from the dropdown. You can then continue with the creation of your file;

Note: If you are using the same accounts production on all files, you are able to set this box as default from within your Firm Settings > File Settings. Note this will create all your files as Dual Codes going forward.

3. Once you have created your file, go into the Trial Balance and select "Import Trial Balance"

4. Next, select Custom CSV;

5. You can then choose your CSV and press "Upload";

6. You will now select the Bookkeeping System in which your Trial Balance has been exported from. You can then complete the rest of the page and continue to the next page;

7. Review your Trial Balance and then continue to "Import"

8. You will now be prompted that your Trial Balance has imported successfully. You will also be informed of how many of your rows have been auto mapped and unmapped.  If you have rows unmapped, you can now select the "Dual Codes Mapper" button.

Note: If all lines have mapped, you can now return to your Trial Balance"

9. You will now see all rows from within your Trial Balance appear. For all rows unmapped, you can either type in a nominal code or description which will generate a list of already existing options for you to select from.

10. Once you have completed mapping all your codes, you can return to the trial balance. If you wish to change any of the codes you have mapped to, you can re-access this dual mapper area through the Trial Balance Dropdown > Dual Code Mapping;
