In order to send queries to an External Firm, your client's file must have an "External Firm Queries" workpaper. 

SMSF file templates (AU) have a set workpaper referenced A1 - Administrator Queries.

If your client's Audit file does not have this workpaper, you can add this by following the steps below:

1. Access your client's file and add a new workpaper;
   
2. Add the preferred reference and title and select "External Firm Queries" from the Type dropdown;
   
3. Create the workpaper
   
   Please note that a file can only have one External Firm Queries workpaper.
