To fully optimise the functionalities of the SMSF dashboard and enhance the efficiency of SMSF audit workflow management, we have created the SMSF Notification Fallback System

The  SMSF Notification Fallback System will activate and follow a set protocol depending on what steps have been taken within the platform.

SMSF Notification Fallback System

The SMSF Notification Fallback System will use the following steps:

Step 1 - The Auditor Who Notified Remains Active & The linked Email Is Not Suspended Or Deleted

At the bottom of the A1 External Firm Portal workpaper, the Auditor can notify the Administrator.

This will always supersede all other mechanisms, as the Auditor has specifically asked to be notified when pushing the Notify External Firm button

Note: If Step 1 has not been actioned, the fallback reverts to Step 2

Step 2 - The Default Notification Team is configured

By adding members to the Default Notification Team, you'll designate these members as the firm's primary recipients of notifications.

Note: The DNT will supersede all other mechanisms, excluding Step 1 - The Auditor who notified

Note: If Steps 1 & 2 have not been actioned, the fallback reverts to Step 3

Step 3 - The Auditor Who Has Been Assigned The File

If the auditor assigned to the file remains active & the linked email is not suspended or deleted, they will become the firm member who receives notifications.

Note: If Steps 1, 2 & 3 have not been actioned, the fallback reverts to Step 4

Step 4 - The Engagement Team Exists

The Auditor who notified or the Auditor assigned to the file has been disabled or deleted, but the auditors on the file's Engagement Team remain active & the linked email is not suspended or deleted. They will become the firm members who receive notifications.

Note: If Steps 1-4 have not been actioned, the fallback reverts to Step 5

Step 5 - The Files Creator & Error Message

If none of the fallback logic has been activated and has been put into place, or the linked email's have been suspended or deleted, the final attempt to notify via the SMSF Notification Fallback System, will be the files creator.

If however all steps have been taken and the users no longer remain, the administrator will receive the below error message and will need to contact the funds auditor to take action.
